U.S. Senator John Boozman has served Arkansas with distinction, honor, and as an advocate for those who are less fortunate. Raised in Fort Smith, John attended the University of Arkansas and played football for the Razorbacks. He graduated from the Southern College of Optometry and entered private practice with his brother, Fay. Their clinic ultimately became the major provider of eye care to northwest Arkansas.
John served the people of Arkansas’ Third Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He was the Ranking Member of the House Veterans Affairs Economic Opportunity Subcommittee, and Ranking Member of the Water Resources and Environment Subcommittee of the House Transportation Committee.
John was sworn in as U.S. Senator on January 5, 2011. In the 112th Congress he has been selected to sit on four committees: Agricultural, Nutrition, and Forestry; Environment and Public Works; Commerce, Science, and Transportation; and Veterans Affairs.
